India

India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has shed light on why former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has stayed in India since August 2024.
He shared that her extended visit is a personal choice, tied to the circumstances she faced when leaving Bangladesh after her 15-year term, which ended during a period of serious unrest back home.

India's take: Democracy matters for Bangladesh

Jaishankar also highlighted that India wants to see democracy thrive in Bangladesh.
"We wish Bangladesh well," he said, adding that supporting a process reflecting the people's will is key for both countries' relationship and future cooperation.
