Woman doctor arrested in Faridabad was Jaish women wing's head
What's the story
Dr. Shaheena Shahid, a Lucknow-based doctor who was arrested in connection with a terror module busted in Faridabad, was the head of the women's wing of Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Delhi Police sources told NDTV. She was allegedly responsible for its recruitment activities in India. Her arrest came after JeM's terror module was busted and several weapons were found in her car. The vehicle was searched after Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, who was arrested from Faridabad, revealed details during interrogation.

Dr. Shahid was given charge of JeM's women's wing
Dr. Shahid was reportedly given charge of JeM's women's wing, Jamaat ul-Mominaat, which is headed by Sadia Azhar, the sister of JeM founder Masood Azhar. Sadia's husband was among the 10 family members of Azhar killed during Operation Sindoor on May 7. Reportedly, recruitment for this unit started on October 8 in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. The women's brigade is said to be enlisting wives of JeM commanders and economically vulnerable women studying at its centers across several Pakistani cities

Doctor linked to pro-Jaish-e-Mohammed posters in Srinter
Dr. Muzammil, who worked at Al-Falah University in Dhauj, was arrested after police linked him to a case of pro-Jaish-e-Mohammed posters in Srinagar. His interrogation led to the recovery of 350kg of explosive material suspected to be ammonium nitrate from a rented accommodation. The recovery also included 20 timers and other suspicious items. Hours after this seizure, another 2,563kg of suspected explosives were recovered from a different house in Faridabad.

Police are now investigating if the female doctor, who is also part of Al-Falah University, provided logistical support or served as a conduit for moving weaponry and goods, News18 reported. The vehicle used to transfer the weapons is believed to have been registered in her name or under her operational authority. Investigators are also verifying her contacts and financial activities to determine if she was aware of the group's radical goals or actively participated.
