YouTuber arrested for defrauding Mumbai woman
Piyush Katyaal, a Delhi-based YouTuber with over five lakh subscribers, has landed in trouble after allegedly scamming a 45-year-old Mumbai woman out of ₹19 lakh. The two connected after she watched one of his prank videos and they started chatting. Katyaal then claimed he needed money for a medical emergency and asked her for help.
TL;DR
Victim felt pressured to transfer full amount
When the woman hesitated to send more money, Katyaal allegedly threatened to leak their private chats online—leaving her feeling pressured to transfer the full amount in several installments. She eventually reached out to Mumbai's cyber police, who arrested Katyaal in Delhi on June 12. The investigation is ongoing as police look into more possible fraud by him and work toward justice for the victim.
