YSRCP leaders surrender in TDP leaders' murder case
Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkatarami Reddy turned themselves in on Thursday, December 11, 2025, accused of the double murder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders Javishetty Venkateswarlu and Koteswara Rao.
The attack happened back in May, when the victims' motorcycle was rammed by an SUV as they returned from a wedding in Nakkagudem, Telangana; the victims were residents of Gundlapadu village.
The attack occurred near Bodilaveedu in Veldurthi mandal.
What's happening now
A local court has sent both brothers to 14 days in judicial custody at Nellore jail.
Earlier, their bail requests were denied by both the Andhra Pradesh High Court and Supreme Court, after the state's counsel argued concerns about witness intimidation and tampering with evidence.
Police have also imposed Section 30 restrictions in Gurazala sub-division, put former minister Vidadala Rajini under house arrest, and detained several YSRCP leaders amid ongoing protests—highlighting just how tense things are over alleged power struggles in the area.
