5 healthy snacks you can have at your office desk

It is pretty common to feel rumbles in your tummy after mid-afternoon. However, we often end up consuming processed and packaged foods, in the name of snacks. Instead, we suggest you to have your own set of healthy snacks which can keep you energized and full until your next meal. Here are five healthy snack options you can have right at your office desk.

    Apple and peanut butter

This combination is both delicious and filling. And, if you're wondering about its health value, it has got all the nutrition you need. Rich in dietary fiber, essential vitamins, phytonutrients and antioxidants, apples can help in reducing the risk of hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. On the other hand, peanut butter has protein and essential minerals, and can lower risk of high blood pressure.

    Sweet potato chips

When the clock strikes 5, and you crave something light and tasty, chips are perhaps the first thing that come to your mind. But, fried chips, loaded with calories, aren't good for daily consumption. Sweet potato chips, on the other hand, can be easily made at home, simply by seasoning and baking or air frying. Low on calories, they're filled with protein and vitamins.

    Popcorn

As long as you are not ingesting movie theater-style variants that are usually filled with butter and salt, popcorn can be your daily munching partner. Air-popped popcorn contain a wealth of nutrients such as protein, fiber, iron, and magnesium, among others. Popcorn are great, if you wish to shed some extra kilos. Further, they may also help control blood sugar and boost your eyesight.

    Roasted soybeans

Full of both flavor and nourishment, roasted soybeans are healthy and amazingly delicious. For people with desk jobs, taking a good amount of protein is necessary, and this particular snack is an excellent source of the same. Further, filled with fiber and many essential minerals, they can also help fill you up, thereby preventing overeating and promoting weight loss.

    Yogurt and healthy cereals

If you want your office snack to be effortless, go with this option. All you need to do is buy some yogurt and throw in any cereal you want. For one, granola is a great pick. Meanwhile, yogurt has many health benefits - this hydrating probiotic is loaded with protein, potassium, calcium, and essential vitamins. You may also top it with fruits. Stay healthy!
