An explosion occurred outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Chandigarh's Sector 37 on Wednesday evening. According to a report by news agency PTI, the blast was heard around 5:00pm, causing panic in the area. A scooter parked near the building was damaged due to the explosion. However, no injuries or casualties were reported from the incident.

NIA, Crime Branch teams involved in investigation
Senior police officials, including Senior Superintendent of Police Kanwardip Kaur, rushed to the spot soon after the blast. A team from the Central Forensic Laboratory also reached the scene to probe further. Kaur confirmed that a crude type object was thrown and said they are verifying details with CFSL, NIA, and Crime Branch teams involved in the investigation.

Matter of concern, says BJP's Vineet Joshi
Vineet Joshi, head of the state BJP's media cell, also spoke about the incident. He said they heard the sound of the explosion and saw some signs on the boundary wall. "It is a matter of concern if a blast took place outside the party office," Joshi was quoted as saying. Further details about what exactly happened are still awaited as investigations continue.
