2019 iPhones will support Apple Pencil. RIP Steve Jobs

Over the last few days, several reports have gotten us excited about the 2020 iPhones, much more than this year's launches. However, the latest bit of information piques our interest in the 2019 iPhones, and not in a positive way. According to Citi Research (via Business Insider), the iPhone 11 series could come with support for Apple Pencil, the stylus Steve Jobs never wanted. RIP, you genius.

Do you know?
Over my dead body: Jobs said, about stylus

In 2007, while introducing the iPhone at the Macworld Convention in San Francisco, Jobs had mockingly said, "Who wants a stylus? You have to get them, put them away, you lose them. Yuck! Nobody wants a stylus. So let's not use a stylus."

Rumors, for now
Meanwhile, here's everything Citi Research has mentioned in its report

Meanwhile, Citi Research has listed several features it expects to see on the upcoming iPhones including support for stylus. Even last year we heard similar rumors for the iPhone Xs and Xs Max but of course, that didn't happen. Other features mentioned by Citi are related to design, camera, internal upgrades - things we have been hearing a lot over the last few weeks.

Design
And, here's how the iPhone 11 series will look like

According to renders, iPhone 11-series will feature the same notched display and metal-glass sandwiched design that we've seen on the 2018 line-up. However, the major change will be on the rear side in the form of a square-ish camera module that'll house dual or triple lenses (depending on the model). Also, the phones will retain the Lightning port while sporting a redesigned alert slider.

Display
All about the screen

The displays on the 2019 iPhones will be the same as the existing models. The premium iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max models will feature 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays respectively, while iPhone 11r will sport a 6.1-inch LCD screen. Apple may also replace the pressure-sensitive 3D Touch feature with a new Taptic engine and standardized software-based long-press gestures for all the devices.

Highlights
iPhone 11 series will offer updated cameras

The OLED iPhone 11 models will feature a triple-lens rear camera setup comprising a 12MP wide-angle lens, 12MP telephoto lens, and another 12MP super-wide-angle lens, according to leaks. Further, the iPhone 11r will offer an upgraded dual-camera module with the standard and telephoto lenses. Up front, all three models will feature 12MP cameras as against 7MP selfie snappers on last year's iPhones.

Nifty changes
2019 iPhones will also get some important internal upgrades

According to leaks, the upcoming iPhones will be powered by a new A13 Bionic processor. The new chipset is being developed using a 7nm+ process and is touted to offer improved single-core performance along with faster onboard AI processing. Additionally, the iPhone 11-series is tipped to support reverse wireless charging, dual Bluetooth audio connectivity, and come bundled with an 18W charging brick.
