Amazon raises gadget prices citing higher memory and storage costs
Technology
Amazon is raising prices on some of its gadgets, including the Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and Kindle, citing higher costs for memory and storage parts.
This move follows a wave of price hikes across the tech world as making electronics gets more expensive.
Echo Dot Fire TV Kindle hikes
The Echo Dot now costs $79.99 (up from $49.99), while the Fire TV Stick 4K Max jumps to $84.99 from $59.99.
The Fire TV Stick HD goes up a bit to $39.99 (was $34.99).
Kindles are pricier too: the 16GB model climbs to $149.99 (from $109.99), and the Paperwhite now sits at $199.99 after a $40 hike.
Eero Pro 7 now $799.99
Amazon's Eero Pro 7 Wi-Fi system also got hit with a hefty jump: it's now $799.99, which is a full $100 more than before.
Looks like pricier tech is here to stay for now!
