Amazon warns shoppers: Watch out for Black Friday scams

Technology

Amazon is sounding the alarm this Black Friday, warning users about a spike in impersonation scams.
Fake delivery alerts and bogus account messages are making the rounds, trying to steal your info—often through sketchy browser notifications and shady websites using buzzwords like "Christmas" or "Black Friday."

What you need to know (and do)

Cyber experts say fake shopping sites have shot up by 200%, and scam emails have surged by 620%.
With nearly 7 out of 10 people struggling to spot fakes, Amazon suggests double-checking website URLs, skipping random links, being skeptical of deals that seem unreal, and keeping an eye on your bank statements.
If something feels off, change your password or contact your bank right away—better safe than sorry!
