Apple delays camera-equipped AirPods to late 2027 to enhance Siri
Apple is cooking up its first-ever AirPods with built-in cameras, but you'll have to wait until late 2027 to get your hands on them.
The launch was originally planned for 2026 but got pushed back so Apple could beef up the AI features.
These new AirPods won't snap photos. Instead, their tiny stem cameras will help Siri "see" what's around you and give real-time info, like object recognition.
There's even a little indicator light expected to alert people nearby when the cameras are actively feeding visual data to Siri.
Apple develops smart glasses and foldables
Apple is testing these smart AirPods with iOS 28 and working on other futuristic projects too: think smart glasses (possibly dropping this late next year), a second-generation foldable iPhone for late 2027, and a special anniversary iPhone with an edge-to-edge wraparound display.
If you're eyeing upgrades, keep an eye out for the iPhone 18 Pro Max later this year — it'll feature the brand-new A20 chip.
