Apple to add more ad slots in App Store search results
Apple is planning to roll out more ad spots in App Store search results starting 2026.
With over 800 million weekly visitors and most downloads happening through search, Apple wants to give developers extra ways to get noticed—and boost its own ad business at the same time.
What's new for advertisers?
Instead of just one top sponsored result, there will soon be multiple ad placements in the search list.
Advertisers won't pick where their ads show up; placement depends on auction ranking and bid.
The look of ads stays the same, and billing remains cost-per-tap or cost-per-install.
No extra work for current campaigns
If you're already running App Store search ads, good news: your campaigns will automatically qualify for these new slots when they launch.
Apple says this move should help developers reach more users without needing to change anything on their end—especially since top-of-search ads already see strong conversion rates.
