ChatGPT can still answer your health, legal questions
Rumors spread this week that ChatGPT would no longer answer health or legal questions, which left a lot of people confused about what the AI can and can't do now.
Turns out, OpenAI recently updated its policy to consolidate its documents for consistency: ChatGPT still explains general info on these topics, but can't give you personalized advice that only a licensed pro should—like diagnosing issues or offering legal solutions.
AI's head of health clears the air
OpenAI's Head of Health AI, Karan Singhal, reassured everyone that ChatGPT's behavior hasn't really changed for everyday questions.
He explained the update is just about using clearer language in their rules—not cutting off access to helpful info.
So you can still ask ChatGPT to explain stuff about health or law, just don't expect it to play doctor or lawyer.
