ChatGPT lands on Apple CarPlay with voice-only iOS 26.4 support
Technology
ChatGPT has officially landed on Apple CarPlay with the iOS 26.4 update, letting iPhone users chat with the AI using just their voice while driving.
For safety, there's no text display and you'll need to launch the app manually: no wake word yet.
How to use ChatGPT on CarPlay
To use it, connect your iPhone to your car's system and open ChatGPT through CarPlay.
You can ask questions or give commands by voice, and the AI will reply out loud.
You can review previous chats (but not full transcripts), mute responses, or end a session easily.
Just note, you can't change car settings through ChatGPT for safety reasons.
This is the first AI chatbot on CarPlay, so more could follow soon!
