Dubai's parking scam: Watch out for fake QR codes

Heads up if you're parking in Dubai—scammers have been sticking fake QR codes over the real ones in parking lots.
If you scan one, it can send you to a phony website and try to grab your personal or banking details.
Parkin Company PJSC, which runs the city's parking spots, says they're aware of the issue and are working on it.

What's being done (and how to stay safe)

After a video about the scam went viral, Parkin quickly removed all the fake codes they could find and updated everything to point back to the official Roads and Transport Authority site.
