Google Play Store removes 'Uninstall updates' for system apps
Google just took away the "Uninstall updates" button for system apps like Phone, Messages, and Android Auto in the Play Store.
Now, instead of rolling back an update with one tap, you'll have to dig through your phone's Settings.
This change is showing up on all devices, including newer Pixels.
Rolling back updates now takes more steps
If you want to undo a buggy update for a system app, you'll need to head to Settings > Apps > See all apps, pick the app, hit the three dots in the corner, and then tap "Uninstall updates."
It's a bit of a hassle compared to how easy it was before.
Troubleshooting just got slower
This tweak means fixing problems caused by new app updates will take longer.
Before, rolling back was quick through the Play Store; now it's buried deeper in your phone's menus—so troubleshooting isn't as speedy as it used to be.
