Entries are judged by panels of experts, including Dyson engineers, who pick one national winner and two runners-up per country (announced September 9).
Then, the top 20 international ideas are revealed on October 14, with the global winners announced on November 4.
The award aims to help young innovators turn their ideas into reality: more than 400 inventions have already gotten a boost through this program.
