The key highlights include the launch of Jio Call Agent, an AI assistant integrated with the Jio network, and an upgraded MyJio app that will act as a personalized digital assistant powered by AI.

The Jio Call Agent is a major highlight of the telecom giant's AI push. The assistant works directly through the Jio network and can be activated during a call by simply saying "Hey Jio." It joins the conversation only with user consent and stays as long as required. The system supports multiple Indian languages and offers features like real-time transcription, speaker identification (up to 10 different speakers) in conference calls, call summaries with action points, reminders, and follow-ups.

The Jio Call Agent also comes with task management capabilities. During a call, users can ask it to book a cab, order food, reserve a restaurant table, or schedule a meeting without switching between apps. The service is expected to be available for Jio's over 500 million users later this year.
App upgrade
MyJio app gets an AI upgrade
Along with the Call Agent, Jio has also announced a major upgrade for its MyJio app. The company wants to transform it into a personalized AI advisor and relationship manager. With this new experience, users won't have to navigate through menus and settings anymore. They can simply describe what they want, and the AI assistant will take care of it.

The AI assistant in the MyJio app will help manage service requirements for users moving to a new city or traveling abroad. It can suggest appropriate international roaming packs and usage alerts. For those switching to a new eSIM-enabled smartphone, the AI assistant can help complete self-KYC procedures and activate services more quickly.

Jio has also emphasized that privacy is at the heart of both its AI services. The company said that the AI assistant will only take action after getting user consent. Every action will be logged, and any payment-related transaction will require explicit confirmation from the user.
