NASA Artemis II astronauts pass Earth orbit, 1st since 1972
Technology
NASA's Artemis II astronauts are officially on their way past Earth's orbit, the first humans to do so since 1972.
The crew (Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen) kicked off their day prepping for a big lunar flyby after a key maneuver sent them toward the Moon.
Orion trajectory burn and emergency procedures
Today, they'll fine-tune Orion's path with a trajectory correction burn and get cameras ready for lunar observations.
The team is also set to practice emergency procedures like CPR and choking response, plus Christina Koch to test out the spacecraft's emergency communications system, making sure Houston can stay in touch as they travel farther from home.
