NASA's Artemis II crew cruising toward Moon after engine burn
Technology
NASA's Artemis II mission is officially underway, sending four astronauts toward the Moon for the first time in over five decades.
After a successful engine burn on April 2, the crew is now cruising through space toward the Moon; pretty wild to think about!
Artemis II splashdown near San Diego
The crew, Reid Wiseman, Jeremy Hansen, Christina Koch, and Victor Glover, ran into a minor hiccup with a false cabin leak alarm, but Mission Control sorted it out quickly.
The spacecraft will use the Moon's gravity to slingshot back and splash down near San Diego in eight days.
Hansen summed up the spirit of this mission perfectly: Humanity has once again shown what we are capable of.
