Perplexity's Comet browser is now free for everyone
Perplexity just made its AI-powered Comet browser free for everyone on Mac and Windows. Previously, only Max subscribers paying $200 a month had access.
Built on Chromium and powered by Perplexity's own search engine, Comet is designed for anyone who juggles research, work, or multiple tasks online.
How Comet works
Instead of regular tabs, Comet gives you a single workspace with an AI assistant always ready to help—think answering questions, summarizing articles, and even navigating websites for you.
It can keep track of what you're doing to suggest useful info or close tabs you forgot about.
You'll also find built-in tools for news, shopping, travel, finance, and sports. Some features like the Email Assistant are still reserved for Max subscribers.
Is Comet worth your time?
Comet isn't just another Chrome or Firefox clone—it uses agentic AI to turn your browsing into a smart workflow that adapts to what you need in real time.
If you love multitasking or want your browser to do more heavy lifting during research sessions, this one's worth checking out.
