Pixel Watch gets AOD timer, stopwatch, media controls
What's the story
Google has started rolling out an update for its Pixel Watches. The latest update is said to bring always-on display (AOD) support for more features and apps. The development comes after a long wait since July when a redesigned AOD was first hinted at with Wear OS 6. Now, users are finally witnessing the changes on their devices.
Feature update
New features in Google Clock app
The update is being rolled out with Google Clock version 6.11, which is not widely available yet. It brings AOD support for the timer, stopwatch, and media controls. The changes are subtle but significant. For instance, when using the timer on AOD mode, you won't see a countdown ring around the time and buttons anymore. Instead of solid colors, buttons now appear as mere outlines in this mode.
Enhanced functionality
Stopwatch and media controls also get AOD support
The update isn't limited to just the timer. The stopwatch has also been updated with AOD support, removing the countdown ring and increment markers. Like the timer, buttons on the stopwatch now appear as outlines instead of solid colors. Media controls have also been updated with AOD support, with all buttons switching to an outline style for a more streamlined look on your Pixel Watch's display.
