    Tipster Mukul Sharma has released a short video, claiming that Samsung will soon launch a new Galaxy A handset in India. It will feature a 48MP quad rear camera setup and will be priced under Rs. 15,000. Sharma did not reveal the name of the phone but going by the 12-second timer in the video, it looks like the Galaxy A12. Here's our roundup.

    Samsung Galaxy A12: At a glance

    The Galaxy A12 sports a waterdrop notch display with a prominent bottom bezel, a plastic body, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it houses a quad camera setup. The handset bears a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1560 pixels) TFT LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9. It is offered in Blue, White, Black and Red color options.

    The Galaxy A12 packs a quad rear camera module comprising a 48MP (f/2.0) main sensor, a 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro shooter, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. Up front, it offers an 8MP (f/2.2) selfie camera.

    Under the hood

    Samsung Galaxy A12 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of expandable storage. It runs on Android 10-based One UI 2.0 and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. For connectivity, the handset offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port.

    Samsung Galaxy A12 is expected to be launched in the coming days. As per Sharma's tip-off, the handset will be priced under Rs. 15,000.
