Samsung to launch AI-powered smart glasses in 2026
Technology
Samsung is jumping into the smart glasses game, planning to launch AI-powered specs in 2026.
Announced by Jay Kim of Samsung's mobile team, the move places Samsung in a market where competitors like Meta already operate and represents Samsung entering the smart glasses category.
Glasses will use a built-in camera and AI
Instead of focusing on flashy AR visuals, Samsung's glasses will use a built-in camera and AI to understand what you're seeing, then send useful information straight to a connected phone and are expected to integrate with the Galaxy Watch.
As Kim said, the glasses will act as a gateway for AI to capture and understand what you see and work smoothly with other Galaxy devices, making them more about smart assistance than just another screen on your face.
