    France registers win against Sweden in world cup qualifiers

    What's the story

    France continued to be on the top of the points table in UEFA Group A of world cup qualifiers after defeating Sweden 2-1.

    Paul Pogba and Dimitri Payet scored a goal each for the home side while Emil Forsberg scored the only goal for Sweden.

    France are placed first in Group A and are followed by Sweden, Netherlands and Bulgaria.

    Group C

    Germany and Northern Ireland crushed their opponents

    Serge David Gnabry scored a hat-trick against San Marino as Germany won 8-0 in the UEFA qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

    Jonas Hector scored two goals while Sami Khedira, Kevin Volland and Mattia Stefanelli scored a goal each.

    North Ireland registered a 4-0 win against Azerbaijan with Kyle Lafferty, Gareth McAuley, Conor McLaughlin and Chris Brunt scoring a goal each.

    Czech Republic edge out Norway 2-1

    Czech Republic registered their first win as they defeated Norway 2-1 in Prague in Group C. Jaromir Zmrhal scored the winner for the hosts. Joshua King scored the only goal for Norway in 87th minute but the visitors failed to score an equalizer.

    Group E

    Denmark defeated Kazakhstan; Poland registered win over Romania

    Denmark was helped by two goals from Christian Eriksen in their 4-1 win against Kazakhstan at Copenhagen.

    Suyumbayey scored the only goal for the visitors.

    Poland handed a loss to Romania in their capital city of Bucharest. The visitors won 3-0 as captain Robert Lewandowski scored two goals for his team with the help of Kamil Grosicki's opening goal in 11th minute.

    Group F

    England a step closer to WC berth after defeating Scotland

    England defeated Scotland 3-0 in the Group F UEFA match of FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

    Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Gary Cahill scored a goal each at the Wembley Stadium in London.

    In other Group F matches, Slovenia defeated Malta 1-0 while Lithuania was crushed 0-4 by Slovakia.

    England is on the top of points table in the group followed by Slovenia.

    Ghazaryan's late goal helps Armenia win

    Armenia registered a win 3-2 against Montenegro after Gevorg Ghazaryan scored the winner in the 93rd minute of the game. The game was tied 2-2 before that.
