One of the most talented batsmen Pakistan has produced in recent years, Ahmad Shehzad made his debut in first-class cricket at the age of 15 in 2007. His rise through the ranks was quicker than his peers. At the age of 17, he made his ODI debut against Australia in 2009. He was part of the Pakistani team that won the ICC World Twenty20 the same year. In the 2014 edition of ICC World Twenty20, Shehzad became the first player from Pakistan to score centuries in all formats of the game. He made his Test debut in 2013 against Sri Lanka and scored a century in the third Test of that series. Lack of consistency and discipline led to Shehzad losing his spot in both Test and ODI in 2015. However, his solid performances for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2016 and 2017 PSL editions made it hard for the selectors to ignore his pedigree. He made a return to the national fold in 2017. Shehzad last played a Test in 2015 and an ODI in 2017. His last international match was in 2019, a T20I against Sri Lanka.
