Arjun Tendulkar called up for Mumbai's pre-season squad: Details here
Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has been selected in the pre-season squad for Mumbai. The side is scheduled to play in the Bapuna Cup in Nagpur from September 5, organized by the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA). The side would be led by Suryakumar Yadav, as Arjun looks to get his professional cricketing career off to a strong start. Here's more.
Mumbai Squad for Bapuna Cup: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Aditya Tare, Jay Bista, Sarfaraz Khan, Shubham Ranjane, Raunak Sharma, Eknath Kerkar, Sufiyan Shaikh, Akash Parkar, Shams Mulani, Aditya Dhumal, Shashank Attarde, Aquib Kureshi, Kruthik Hanagavadi and Arjun Tendulkar.
Arjun has been playing competitive cricket for quite some time now. Of late, one of his competitive performances came during his stint in the T20 Mumbai League, where he put up a fine all-round performance. Playing for Aakash Tigers, Arjun's best performance came against North Mumbai Panthers, where he claimed 3/27, asides scoring a 24-ball 28 as his side won the match.
Arjun continued his impressive performance with the ball overseas as well when he played for MCC Young Cricketers. In a match against Surrey 2nd XI, Arjun came up with a magical delivery to get rid of opening batsman Nathan Tilley. Bowling over the wicket, Arjun angled it across and the ball swung quite a bit to breach Tilley's defense and shatter the stumps.

Meanwhile, following Arjun's impressive performance in the above two tournaments, Mumbai selector Milind Rege has been vastly impressed with him. Notably, he was also the one who had selected Sachin back in his days in 1988. "I don't know of any selector who has selected both father and son. This is just a coincidence that they are both Tendulkar," Rege quoted to India Today.
