Starc (6/12) struck with the first ball of the match, dismissing Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam.
He then dismissed Tanzid Hasan and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto in quick succession.
The Bangladeshi side that stunned Australia in the first Test was left reeling as Starc took his fourth wicket when Cameron Green caught Mominul Haque for nine runs.
Starc trapped Litton Das lbw for his fifth wicket before dismissing top run-scorer Shoriful Islam (14).
Bangladesh managed to play 34 overs.

Bangladesh were folded for just 63 runs against hosts Sri Lanka at SSC, Colombo, in 2007.
Rajin Saleh was the only batter to enter double digits (21).
For the Lankans, pacer Lasith Malinga and spinner Muthiah Muralidaran claimed four-fers as Bangladesh were bundled inside 26 overs.

South Africa and Bangladesh met each other in the 1st Test at Kingsmead, Durban, 2022.
Hosts South Africa batted first and scored 367 runs. In response, visitors Bangladesh managed 298.
In the 3rd innings, the Proteas were folded for 204.
