Champions League, gameweek 6: Preview and qualification scenarios

The gameweek 6 of the UEFA Champions League 2019-20 is set to be held tonight. Groups E-H are in action and there is plenty of things on offer. Inter Milan are in a must-win scenario and face Barcelona. Chelsea face Lille at home in another vital clash. Holders Liverpool face a tricky Salzburg test. Here is all that you need to know.

Ajax, Valencia and Chelsea all in fray for qualification

Premier League giants Chelsea will hope to beat Lille at home to secure qualification. Meanwhile, they can also progress with a draw. However, it depends on other results. If Ajax beat Valencia, then a point will suffice for the Blues. Ajax lead Group H with 10 points, whereas, Valencia and Chelsea have eight points each. Lille have already been eliminated.

    Chelsea welcome Rudiger back

Chelsea, who will welcome the experienced Antonio Rudiger at the back. "It is good to have him back and he is training really well," said Blues boss Frank Lampard. Meanwhile, Chelsea are winless in their last five Champions League games at Stamford Bridge (D4, L1).

Inter and Dortmund aim to qualify from Group F

With Barcelona already through to the round of 16, the likes of Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to join the Spanish champions. Inter host Barca at home and a loss will end their campaign. Meanwhile, Dortmund also have seven points and a draw or a win can hand them progression. The German club holds Slavia Prague at home.

Defending champions Liverpool eyeing top spot

Holders Liverpool need a point against Salzburg away from home to be sure of a place in the round of 16. The Reds are currently on top of Group E and will guarantee top spot with a victory. Second-placed Napoli host the already-eliminated Genk. A win can keep them in the hunt for top spot. That will happen if Liverpool draw or lose.

We will go for everything and run for our lives

"Everybody knows it's a final and we're prepared for that - Salzburg has to win against us," said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp."We are not a typical Champions League winner, we're still ambitious like crazy, we will go for everything and run for our lives."

This is how Group G stands at the moment

Red Bull Leipzig top Group G at the moment with 10 points and have qualified. They need one point against Lyon to finish as group winners. Meanwhile, Lyon will progress should they defeat Leipzig. They can also qualify with a point if Benfica defeat Zenit. Meanwhile, Zenit will go through if they win or draw against Benfica, and Lyon fail to beat Leipzig.
