Day-Night Test felt like World Cup final: Sourav Ganguly

India scripted a historic moment by winning their first-ever Day-Night Test, as they tamed Bangladesh at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The match lived up to its hype as it saw a huge turnout, with it being a full-house on all the three days the match lasted. Meanwhile, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said D/N Test felt like a World Cup final.

Ganguly dubs Eden's atmosphere similar to World Cup final

Speaking on the experience, Ganguly was mesmerized by the crowd turnout, which is a rare sight in Tests. He dubbed the atmosphere like a World Cup final. "Oh! It is an absolutely amazing feeling. Feels great. Look for yourself. It brings back memories of the 2001 Test match if you ask me. This is what Test cricket should be, packed stadiums," he told IANS.

Ganguly thanks Rahul Dravid for extended support towards D/N Tests

During the match, former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid was invited, who extended his warm support and said that he would have loved to be a part of this. "It is very kind of him. Feels very good when your team-mates compliment you. Coming from him, it is special. I am very happy. Yes, it is a very satisfying feeling," said Ganguly on Dravid's comments.

Ganguly doesn't miss being part of this pink-ball era

"You cannot say that, as we have all had our time. When we were playing, the T20 had just come in and look at how it has spread and now this. So, you cannot think that way," he added.

Ganguly unsure when India would next play D/N Test

As far as India's next Test series is concerned, it would be played in New Zealand. Upon being asked if there would be a D/N Test in New Zealand, Ganguly replied, "Nothing is decided yet. We still have time for the New Zealand series. Let's see." Notably, the venues, Wellington and Christchurch, which would be hosting the Tests against India, don't have floodlights.

Ganguly thinks pink-ball Tests will attract crowds

"We will all sit down and discuss the way ahead after this one. But, just imagine the frenzy if you have teams like England, South Africa and Australia playing pink-ball Tests against India. Think what the crowd will get to witness," Ganguly said on future.

Records scripted during D/N Test at Eden

As for some records scripted during the D/N Test: - Virat Kohli amassed his 41st international century as captain. - Kohli also became the first Indian to hit a century in D/N Test. - He also equaled Sachin Tendulkar in terms of being second-fastest to 27 Test tons (141). - Mayank Agarwal became the second batsman to surpass 750 runs in Tests this year.
