What's the story

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed a five-match women's T20I series between India and Sri Lanka from December 21-30. The first two matches will be held at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, while the last three will take place at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. This comes after Bangladesh's tour to India was postponed due to political tensions.

Thiruvananthapuram to host women's international matches for 1st time

Notably, this series will be the first time Thiruvananthapuram hosts women's international games. The city has previously hosted men's T20Is and ODIs, as well as youth ODIs and Tests. Visakhapatnam had hosted India's league matches against South Africa and Australia during the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup, along with a 10-day pre-tournament camp. Notably, Thiruvananthapuram will host the matches on December 26, 28, and 30. The first two games will be played on December 21 and 23.
