What's the story

The 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction concluded on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. All 10 teams have bolstered their rosters by picking some of the most prolific players. While Cameron Green bagged a record deal with Kolkata Knight Riders, Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma became the most expensive uncapped players in IPL history. Here are the tournament's costliest uncapped players in the IPL.

Veer

Prashant Veer: ₹14.20 crore

Prashant Veer, the 20-year-old left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder, bagged his maiden IPL contract at the 2026 auction. Chennai Super Kings dished out a massive ₹14.2 crore for him in the mini-auction. Veer, who strikes at 167 in T20s, became the most expensive uncapped player in the tournament. The all-rounder recorded 320 runs and eight wickets in the 2025 UP T20 League.

Kartik

Kartik Sharma: ₹14.20 crore

Minutes after acquiring Veer, CSK bought another uncapped player in Kartik Sharma, for exactly ₹14.2 crore. Hence, Veer and Kartik now share the top spot on this list. Like Veer, the latter had a base price of ₹30 lakh. Kartik, a 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, scored a century on his Ranji Trophy debut. He has a strike rate of 162.92 in T20s.
