A middle-order collapse soon followed as they slipped to 86/6 in the 13th over. Nawaz was instrumental in this collapse, picking up two wickets in an over and leaving Sri Lanka searching for answers. He dismissed Kusal Perera and Dasun Shanaka in the 12th over. Thereafter, he got Kamindu Mendis' wickets, leaving the Lankans reeling at 86/6.
