Punjab have announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, India's domestic 50-over competition. The team includes Team India players Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Arshdeep Singh. Along with the three stars, Punjab has also included several established hitters and all-rounders in their batting-heavy squad. Punjab will start their campaign against Maharashtra on December 24.

The availability of Gill, Abhishek, and Arshdeep for the entire tournament remains uncertain. India are set to play three ODIs against New Zealand from January 11, followed by a five-match T20I series from January 21. Despite being dropped from India's T20 World Cup 2026 squad, Gill remains the ODI skipper. Meanwhile, Abhishek and Arshdeep are the mainstay T20I players.

Jaipur to host Punjab's league-stage matches; no captain yet
Punjab, who lost the quarter-finals last year, will play all seven of their Vijay Hazare Trophy league-stage matches in Jaipur. They have been drawn in a competitive group with Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Goa, and Mumbai. The league phase will end on January 8, three days ahead of India's first ODI against New Zealand. Notably, Punjab have not named a captain in the official squad announcement for the tournament.
