India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Shivam Dube are set to play in the two upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy matches. The duo will represent Mumbai in the tournament, which kicks off on December 24. They will feature against Himachal Pradesh and Punjab on January 6 and January 8, respectively. An official from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) confirmed their participation, saying, "Their names will be added to the Mumbai squad."

He said, "Whenever players are available, they should be playing domestic cricket. I mean, that's the only way you'll keep yourself sharp and playing cricket."

Suryakumar, Dube in international cricket

Suryakumar, who is active in only one format (T20Is), has been in a downward spiral. He had a dismal T20I run in 2025. Despite leading India to series wins, Suryakumar managed 218 runs at 13.62 in 21 T20Is. His strike rate was 123.16, quite low for his standards.
