Yuvraj Singh is after BCCI for unpaid IPL dues
Reportedly, Yuvraj Singh has been after the BCCI for the last 18 months in regards to his unpaid dues amounting to Rs. 3 crore. The veteran cricketer who has not played an international match since the West Indies series this July, is seeking compensation for the loss of income for the period when he missed playing first seven matches in the last IPL season.
BCCI policy on compensation
As per BCCI policy, if a player misses out on IPL matches due to an injury sustained while playing for the Indian team, the board will compensate the player for the loss of income. In this case, Yuvraj was injured while playing for India during the ICC World T20, 2016 which led to him missing first half of IPL season for his team Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Yuvraj may approach CoA
Yuvraj's colleague at Sunrisers team Ashish Nehra who also missed five IPL games, received his dues from the BCCI. Reportedly, Yuvraj wrote several letters to the BCCI in this regard with his mother too approaching the board officials. The left-handed batsman might now approach the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), which looks after the functioning of the cricket board.Share this timeline
