Daniel Clarke urges education after Jersey drone cancelations and diversions
Flights at Jersey Airport were canceled and diverted on October 30 and 31, 2026, thanks to unauthorized drones flying. It is not just a local problem. Airports worldwide are dealing with this too.
Daniel Clarke from StirlingX points out that cheap drones and people not knowing the rules are a big part of the issue.
He says better education about where you can (and cannot) fly drones is key for keeping airports safe.
Passengers' rights after drone disruptions
If your flight gets delayed or canceled because of drone trouble, you have rights. Airlines have to let you know what is going on and offer other ways to get where you are going.
If they do not, you can book your own travel and claim a refund later.
Allana Wilckens from FlightRight suggests double-checking if airlines say it was an "extraordinary circumstance" to avoid paying compensation.
She believes passengers deserve strong support when things go wrong due to drone disruptions.
