Ohio Gov.-elect Amy Acton ignores Ramaswamy voicemail, calls for accountability
Ohio's Democratic Gov.-elect Amy Acton chose not to respond to a voicemail from Vivek Ramaswamy, who had congratulated her after the election.
This comes right after Ramaswamy ran a controversial ad featuring Acton's estranged mother and details about her difficult childhood, something many felt crossed a line.
On CBS Mornings, Acton said it's important for leaders to be held accountable for what they put out there.
Brother condemns campaign use of family
Acton's brother publicly called out the use of their family's past as campaign material, saying personal stories shouldn't be political weapons.
Despite all this, Acton says she's focused on helping Ohioans and believes people are tired of political mudslinging: Acton says, "They're tired of the hate and chaos and vitriol" and that "people are ready for public service, unity, and decency."
