Starship Technologies robot collides with bus in Tallinn, injures 9
World
A delivery robot from Starship Technologies caused a stir in Tallinn, Estonia, when it rolled into an intersection during rush hour and collided with a bus.
The bus driver slammed the brakes to avoid hitting the robot, which led to at least nine bus riders being injured as they fell.
Oddly, the robot just kept moving along its route after the crash.
Estonian officials consider legal action
Starship's head of operation, Pepe Aaviksoo, said bright ad boards and traffic lights likely threw off the robot's sensors.
This isn't their first incident (Starship is already facing a lawsuit in Arizona over another injury involving one of its robots).
Now, Estonian officials are considering legal action too, saying robots (and their makers) can't just ignore accidents.
