Syria sent military advisers to Saudi Arabia as both countries signed a new defense deal.
The goal is to help Saudi Arabia beef up its defenses as Houthi rebels from Yemen, backed by Iran, ramp up their attacks.
This agreement means Syrian experts will train and advise both Saudi and Yemeni units inside the kingdom.
Turkey approves Saudi Arabia defense pact
Turkey has also stepped in, officially approving a defense pact to support Saudi Arabia.
With these moves, Middle Eastern countries are teaming up more closely to push back against Houthi threats.
