Hyundai advances the launch of 2020 Creta to March 16

Hyundai's much-awaited compact SUV, the 2020 Creta, which was slated to go official on March 17, will now be launched in India on March 16. The car comes with a host of new features and shares its mechanical specifications with its cousin, the Kia Seltos. Notably, the updated crossover has started reaching dealerships and has garnered over 10,000 pre-launch bookings. Here's more.

A look at the 2020 Hyundai Creta

The 2020 Creta gets a compact yet stylish look, featuring a sporty front fascia with a wide cascading grille, sleek LED headlights, and faux skid plates on both the ends. The car gets an attractive side profile with indicator-mounted ORVMs, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and chrome-finished door handles. On the rear, it sports a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna and a rear window wiper with defogger.

    Inside the cabin

Inside, the 2020 Creta comes with a spacious five-seater cabin featuring a panoramic sunroof, an air purifier, and a multifunctional steering wheel. The car houses a fully-digital instrument cluster and a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with support for connectivity features. Furthermore, it also gets features like tire pressure monitoring system, drive mode selector, and an electronic parking brake against the traditional handbrake.

    Power and performance

The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be offered with three BS6-compliant engine options: 1.5-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol. The former two are capable of producing 115PS of power, while the latter churns out 140PS. Moreover, the car will be offered with a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox option.

And, how much will it cost?

Hyundai will reveal the official pricing and availability details of the 2020 Creta on March 16 itself. However, going by the reports, the car would fall under Rs. 10-17 lakh price bracket. Once launched, it will compete against Tata Harrier, MG Hector, and Kia Seltos.
