Bajaj Dominar 250 launched in India at Rs. 1.60 lakh
After a bunch of leaks and rumors, Bajaj Auto has finally launched the 250cc variant of its popular sports motorcycle, the Dominar, in India. The new motorcycle is priced at Rs. 1.60 lakh and is approximately Rs. 30,000 cheaper than the 400cc model. The quarter-liter sports tourer promises a top speed of 132kmph and can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 10.5 seconds. Here's more.
The Dominar 250 sits on a beam type perimeter chassis, featuring a semi-faired design, dual-tone paint scheme, a muscular fuel tank, split seats, and dual exhausts. The motorcycle runs on blacked-out alloy wheels and houses a fully-digital instrument cluster as well as all-LED fitments for lighting. However, it has the same 13-liter fuel tank and 157mm ground clearance as seen on the 400cc model.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 is powered by a BS6-compliant 248.8cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch. It is capable of producing 27PS of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The sports tourer has a top speed of 132kmph and it can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 10.5 seconds.
In the safety department, Bajaj Dominar 250 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a multi-step adjustable mono-shock unit on the rear.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Bajaj Dominar 250 costs Rs. 1.60 lakh, which is Rs. 30,000 cheaper than the 400cc model. At this price point, it goes up against KTM 250 Duke, Suzuki Gixxer 250, and Yamaha FZ25.
