BS6-ready Renault Duster launched at Rs. 8.5 lakh

In an attempt to comply with the upcoming emission norms, French automaker Renault has launched the BS6 version of its SUV, the Duster, in India. The updated version is available in solo 1.5-liter petrol engine and comes at a starting price of Rs. 8.49 lakh. Meanwhile, the car retains the design and features of its BS4 counterpart. Here's our roundup.

Exteriors
A look at the Renault Duster

The Renault Duster gets a sporty look featuring an appealing front profile with a chrome-finished grille, a muscular bonnet with sculpted lines, and trapezoidal headlamp units with mounted DRLs. The car gets a neat side profile with blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and runs on 16-inch alloy wheels. Furthermore, it houses LED taillamps and has a ground clearance of 205mm.

Interiors
Inside the cabin

Inside, the BS6-compliant Renault Duster comes with a spacious five-seater cabin featuring fabric upholstery, automatic climate control, and a multifunctional steering wheel. The car houses a semi-digital instrument console and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with connectivity features. For safety, it gets dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear camera with parking sensors, and several driver-assist features.

Engine
Power and performance

At present, the BS6-compliant Renault Duster is offered with a 1.5-liter petrol engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and generates 106hp of maximum power and 142Nm of peak torque. Apart from that, the company has recently unveiled a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine that will be a part of the Duster line-up soon. The motor makes 156hp of power and 250Nm peak torque.

Information
And, what is the pricing?

As for the pricing, the BS6-compliant Renault Duster starts at Rs. 8.49 lakh for the entry-level RXE variant and goes up to Rs. 9.99 lakh for top-of-the-line RXZ model. Lastly, it goes up against the recently-launched Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and MG Hector.
