Hero Optima ER, Nyx ER e-scooters launched in India

Expanding its products line-up, Hero Electric has launched the Optima ER and Nyx ER e-scooters in India. Both models, which have also received FAME II benefits, come equipped with dual batteries and promise a range of up to 110km on a single charge. Notably, both scooters also come with a warranty of three years. Here is our roundup.

Let's take a look at both scooters

Both the Optima ER and Nyx ER scooters feature a similar sporty look with blacked-out mirrors along with body-colored front guard and muffler. The Optima ER offers features such as mobile charging, anti-theft system and is particularly targeted towards regular users including office goers and college students. On the other hand, Nyx ER has more storage capacity and is ideal for delivery-based businesses.

    Power and performance

Both Optima ER and Nyx ER are powered by a 56Ah lithium-ion battery which puts out 550W/1,200W and 600W/1,300W of maximum power, respectively. The battery promises a range of up to 110km and can be fully charged in around 4-5 hours. Moreover, both scooters have a top speed of 42kmph and they can do 0-30kmph in 8 seconds.

Here's a look at the safety and suspension setup

For braking performance, both Optima ER and Nyx ER get drum brakes on both wheels along with combined braking system (CBS) as standard. The scooters also come with regenerate braking system wherein the battery gets charged whenever you apply brakes. To handle suspension duties, both models house telescopic forks in front and a monoshock suspension on the rear.

    Finally, what about pricing?

Looking at ex-showroom prices, the Hero Optima ER is pegged at Rs. 68,721, while the Hero Nyx ER costs Rs. 69,754. At this price point, the scooters will lock horns with rivals such as BattRE Electric Scooter and Okinawa Praise.
