Honda Activa continues to rule two-wheeler sales chart in India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has sold the highest number of units of its popular two-wheeler, Activa, in October 2019, leaving behind the best-selling Hero Splendor motorcycle. The Japanese automaker has sold 281,273 units of the scooter and topped the two-wheeler sales chart in India for the fourth consecutive month. Meanwhile, the company has recently updated the Activa line-up with a BS6-compliant engine.

Here's what the Honda Activa offers

To recall, the Honda Activa offers a sporty look with chrome garnishing on the front apron, external fuel cap, decals on the side skirts, and a silver-colored grab rail. The scooter also houses digital-analog instrument console, blacked-out alloy wheels, an all-LED lighting setup, and an ignition key which also doubles up for opening the seat and fuel lid.

    Power and performance

The Honda Activa is powered by a BS6-compliant 124cc fuel-injected engine which is capable of producing 8.1bhp of power at 6,500 rpm and 10.3Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. Notably, the scooter also promises an ARAI-certified mileage of 60kmpl.

    Honda Activa: On the road

In the safety department, the Honda Activa comes equipped with disc/drum brake on the front wheel, drum brake on the rear wheel, along with combined braking system (CBS) for improved braking efficiency. The scooter houses spring-loaded hydraulic type telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.

And, here's a look at its pricing

As for the pricing, the BS6-compliant Activa range starts at Rs. 67,490 for the standard model and goes up to Rs. 74,990 for the top-of-the-line Deluxe trim. At this price point, it takes on the likes of Hero Maestro Edge 125 and TVS Jupiter.
