South Korean automaker Hyundai has removed the ELANTRA sedan from its official Indian website, hinting that it might have been discontinued. Dealerships have also stopped accepting bookings for the vehicle. As for the highlights, the car has a sporty design and a feature-loaded cabin. It is offered with a choice of BS6-compliant petrol as well as diesel engines.

    Why does this story matter?

Hyundai might have discontinued the ELANTRA sedan in India due to a lack of demand or shortage of spare parts. However, the brand is yet to make an official announcement. It is possible that the company could be planning to introduce the new-generation version of the four-wheeler on our shores. The new model is already up for grabs in select international markets.

The car has LED headlights and alloy wheels

The Hyundai Elantra has a sloping roofline, a sculpted bonnet, a chromed grille, and sharp-looking LED headlights with DRLs. On the sides, it is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and designer alloy wheels. A shark-fin antenna and wrap-around LED taillamps are available on the rear end. Dimensions-wise, it has a wheelbase of 2,700mm and a ground clearance of 167mm.

    Two engine options are offered

The Hyundai ELANTRA runs on a 2.0-liter petrol engine that makes 150hp/192Nm and a 1.5-liter diesel mill that generates 114hp/250Nm. Transmission duties on the car are handled by a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

The sedan gets an electric sunroof and six airbags

The Hyundai ELANTRA has a spacious 5-seater cabin, featuring an electric sunroof, an Infinity audio system, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, and a multifunctional power steering wheel. It houses an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and connected car technology. The passengers' safety is ensured by six airbags, ABS, parking sensors, and electronic stability control.
