India posts record 354,625 EV sales driven by 2-wheelers
India just saw its biggest month ever for electric vehicle (EV) sales: 354,625 units in October 2026, up 45% from last year.
Most of this growth came from electric two-wheelers, with TVS Motor Company nearly doubling its numbers to 60,490 units.
Overall, electric two-wheeler sales shot up by almost 50%, showing how quickly Indians are switching to greener rides.
Tata Motors sells 14,669 electric cars
Electric car sales also jumped by 76.47%, with Tata Motors leading the charge, selling 14,669 vehicles.
FADA President Sai Giridhar credits better driving ranges and more affordable prices for this spike.
With EV adoption hitting 11.5% (up from just 6% last year), high fuel prices are pushing even more people toward electric options, and right now, demand is outpacing supply in many categories.
