What's the story

Mahindra is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of its popular Scorpio-N SUV. The facelifted model is expected to hit Indian roads between January and March 2026. This update will be Mahindra's second facelift of the year, after the XUV 7XO (an updated version of the XUV700). The new Scorpio-N will retain its rugged ladder-frame construction but come with minor design changes and a more premium interior.

Design updates

It will feature modern design elements

The facelifted Scorpio-N will sport a sharper front grille and sleeker LED headlights. It may even get new alloy wheel designs while retaining the classic Scorpio-N silhouette. The interior of the SUV is also expected to get a major upgrade with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen. Other features could include a 12-speaker Sony sound system.

Engine specifications

Existing engine options to be retained

The Scorpio-N facelift will continue with its current powertrains: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. Both engines will be paired with manual or automatic gearboxes, while diesel buyers can also opt for four-wheel drive. Despite the updates, Mahindra intends to keep the mechanicals of the new model largely unchanged from those of its predecessor.

Market positioning

Scorpio-N facelift's price and competition

The facelifted Scorpio-N is expected to be priced between ₹14 lakh and ₹26 lakh. The SUV will compete with other seven-seater models such as Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus. Its unique combination of a seven-seat capacity, ladder-frame construction, and feature-rich interior makes it stand out in the Indian market.
