Maserati's MCPura supercar launched in India at ₹4cr
What's the story
Maserati has launched its latest supercar, the MCPura, in India at a starting price of ₹4.12 crore. The new model is said to be an evolution of the Maserati MC20 supercar and was first revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. The Indian version of the MCPura is identical to its international counterpart in terms of engine specifications and performance metrics.
Powertrain
A look at the engine
Both the supercar and its convertible variant, the MCPura Cielo, are powered by Maserati's 3.0-liter V6 turbo-petrol engine. This powerhouse churns out an impressive 630hp and a peak torque of 720Nm in these mid-engined supercars. The coupe version can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds, making it a true beast on the road.
Pricing strategy
What about the pricing strategy?
The MCPura Cielo is priced ₹19 lakh less than the MC20 Cielo, which has been on sale in India since May. This makes the new model a more accessible option for supercar enthusiasts in the country. The aggressive design of both models has been fine-tuned by Dallara, a long-standing race car firm, to enhance their aerodynamic efficiency.
Aesthetic appeal
AI Aqua Rainbow color option introduced
Maserati has introduced a new color, AI Aqua Rainbow, for the MCPura and Cielo models. This unique shade changes color in sunlight, creating a rainbow-like effect. The coupe version sports a matte finish while the convertible comes with a glossy one. Other key design elements include butterfly wing doors, carbon fiber monocoque chassis, and a retractable glass roof for the convertible variant.
Interior
Alcantara seats with laser-etching
The interior of the MCPura is similar to that of the MC20, with Alcantara seats featuring laser-etching for a 3D effect. The details on the coupe are glossy while those on the convertible are matte. These contrasting elements add to the overall aesthetic appeal of Maserati's latest supercar offering in India.
