Mercedes-Benz G 350 d SUV launched at Rs. 1.5 crore
German automaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the G 350d SUV in India at Rs. 1.5 crore. Designed especially for off-roading purposes, the car packs a 3-liter diesel engine and offers features like low-range gearbox and locking differentials. Notably, it is also the first non-AMG Mercedes G-Class vehicle to arrive in India. Here's everything about it.
The Mercedes-Benz G 350d features a boxy design with a blacked-out triple slat grille, revamped bumpers, new alloy wheels, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and dual exhausts. The SUV offers a ground clearance of 241mm, making it ideal for rough terrains. The new G-Wagon is also 53mm longer, 64mm wider and 15mm taller than its predecessor. Further, it sports rounded headlamps with integrated DRLs and LED taillights.
Inside, the five-seater Mercedes-Benz G 350 d offers a premium cabin with powered and ventilated front seats wrapped in leather, three-zone climate control, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car houses a 12.3-inch fully-digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment unit of the same size. It also comes equipped with an eSIM and offers 'Mercedes Me' connected car features.
The Mercedes-Benz G 350d is powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine that is capable of producing 285PS of power and 600Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all wheels via an AWD system. Also, it gets three differential locks for an enhanced off-road experience.
The Mercedes-Benz G 350d comes equipped with disc brakes on all wheels, along with ABS, EBD, and traction control for better road handling. The car also offers nine airbags, a rearview camera, and front as well as rear parking sensors. Apart from that, it also gets an engine immobilizer for anti-theft provisions.
As for the pocket pinch, the Mercedes-Benz G 350d comes at a whopping price of Rs. 1.5 crore in India. At this price point, the car goes up against the likes of Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Defender, and Toyota Land Cruiser.
