MINI launches locally assembled Countryman C at ₹47.5L
What's the story
MINI has expanded its portfolio in India with the launch of the locally assembled Countryman C. The new model is priced at ₹47.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and is a more affordable alternative to the fully imported JCW All4 variant, which costs ₹66.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Countryman C is produced at BMW Group's Chennai facility and shares its front-wheel-drive 'UKL2' platform with the Indian-assembled BMW X1.
Design details
The SUV features customizable light signatures for front DRLs
The Countryman C retains the signature upright stance and rounded elements of MINI, but comes with a cleaner body surface than its predecessor. It features an octagonal grille, adaptive LED headlights, redesigned matrix LED tail lamps, and customizable light signatures for front and rear DRLs. The car also comes with champagne-finished detailing on the grille surround as well as front and rear skid plates.
Interior features
Dual-tone dashboard and JCW sports seats
The interior of the Countryman C is all about minimalism, with a dual-tone dashboard and circular design elements. The dashboard and door panels get a textile finish, while the SUV comes with electrically adjustable JCW Sports seats in Vescin upholstery. A 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen serves as an infotainment system, integrating most vehicle functions and controls for entertainment purposes.

The car is backed by a 156hp, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine
The Countryman C is powered by a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that delivers 156hp and 240Nm of torque. It comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, sending power to the front wheels. The SUV can go from 0-100km/h in just nine seconds and has a top speed of 212km/h. It also comes with connected car tech, ambient lighting, MINI Digital Key Plus, and eight selectable 'MINI Experience' drive modes, among other things.
